Picked as the leading single and Monica's first release on the newly-founded J Records label, "All Eyez on Me" was released in June 2002 from the singer's Japan-release only third studio of the same title. It was produced by Rodney 'Darkchild' Jerkins, who incorporated excerpts of Michael Jackson's 1983 hit "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)," much to the King Of Pop's approval.
